He cought up to Midas (with the Wepwawet level 2000 upgrade) by that point. Midas leveled up to the same cost range did around 30% less damage than Moloch. And obviously it needs to give 450x boost to it's own DPS, otherwise it is no good. Betty Clicker and King Midas are exceptions to this late on in the game.
