WebI was refreshing this page for this. This rate means buying current I Bonds Jan-2024 (with .4% fixed) will perform pretty much exactly the same as the 12-month treasury. (6.89+3.78)/2 = 5.36%. 5.36% * (12/15) = 4.26%. The main difference is you can keep holding these if inflation remains high yet rates are slashed due to some crisis.
